I live in Atlanta and recently optioned a family comedy without an agent. As I attempt to sell the next script, I would like to have an agent but the WGA list of agents in ATL is way off. Most of them have closed, numbers disconnected, or no longer in the business. Do you have an updated list or can put me in the right direction to find an updated list of Agents in the metro
area. Thanks
Serena

Sorry, not much help here. I don’t know any agents in Atlanta.

However, everyone I have talked with would suggest only signing with an agent that is in L.A. That’s where the action is. And with today’s technology, there’s no reason why you couldn’t be a writer from Atlanta… but you definitely want an agent that is in the thick of things.

Also, we’ve sold a script as well without an agent… and we still don’t have one, but we’re still writing. Getting an agent shouldn’t be the “big goal”… selling scripts should be. Those two things are not always connected.
